The reason why police officers appear at a wedding will warm your heart…

As Ashley was about to go for her senior prom, a group of sympathetic police officers arrived to commemorate her father.

It is common knowledge that police officers look out for and encourage one another.

The O’Fallon Police Department in Illinois collaborated with them to guarantee that senior Ashley Walker felt like her father was a part of her special day on prom night.

Ashley’s father, police officer Carl Walker, died the year prior after a two-year battle with cancer.

According to the police department’s Facebook page, 18-year veteran Carl “worked honestly and faithfully as a public servant” and that he “was born to be a police officer.”

Walker worked as a detective with the Greater St. Louis Major Case Squad, Child Death Task Force, and Criminal Investigations Division.

He received multiple awards for his efforts and dedication to law enforcement and his community, including police officer of the Year in 2012.

His O’Fallon Police Department comrades wanted to make sure that his family was taken care of after he died.
Ashley was astonished to hear sirens and witness a line-up of over a dozen police officers waiting to give the senior a befitting send-off to the dance on prom night.

“They just all started leaving and kept giving me flowers, which made me incredibly pleased. And I’m overjoyed that they succeeded. Walker said, “I believe my father is looking down on me and thinking, “Wow, this is great that these boys and gals stepped in when he couldn’t be here.

Ashley was relieved to see the cops who had witnessed her maturation, even if she missed having her father present at prom.

They are still a part of her family.

“I kind of feared he wouldn’t be there for my one and only prom,” Ashley said. All of my disappointment and sadness at his absence vanished when I saw them.

Ashley’s mother, Stacey Hawkins, expressed her gratitude as well.

These men knew Ashley and had witnessed her growth. Stacey Hawkins explained that they are familiar with our family. And it’s extremely wonderful to see how others approach her, admire her, and enjoy themselves.

Even though many of the cops were off duty, they made an attempt to attend.

Detective Chloee Frank stated that Ashley’s bravery shocked and encouraged him and his coworkers.
“It was incredibly important for us to show up and remind them that even if Carl isn’t here, we’re still here and we’ll take care of them in whatever way we can,” Frank said.

Ashley stated that it was the perfect start to her prom night and one she will never forget.
“I simply see so much of my dad in all of them,” Ashley said. There aren’t enough words to explain how grateful I am, and I’m just glad that everyone had the opportunity to express themselves.
