Toby Keith was battling cancer in 2022, surrounded by his wife, kids, and other relatives. Fans prayed for the star’s full recovery, but others took advantage of Toby’s suffering for financial gain.

Toby Keith came to Instagram on June 12, 2022, to announce the terrible news of his cancer diagnosis. The famous singer disclosed that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer the previous October.

He described how he’d spent the previous six months undergoing radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery. The good news was that his body was responding well to the therapy thus far, enabling Toby to take some time off.

He said that he was going to rest, breathe, and recuperate after his therapy. The country singer expressed his desire to spend quality time with his family before expressing his desire to see his fans “sooner rather than later.”

Toby was addressing his family, which included his wife, Tricia Covel, who had been with him for 38 years in 2022, their three kids, and several grandkids. At the time of the revelation, the “Red Solo Cup” singer was on tour in support of the release of his current album, “Peso In My Pocket.”

Toby previously stated that he graduated from Moore High School in 1979. After that, he did what his father did and worked in an oil field during the day and did something more creative in his free time.

The future celebrity and his band, Easy Money, would perform at local taverns. He met Tricia Lucus, a 19-year-old oil company secretary, at a bar when he was 20. She remembered him as “one of those larger-than-life people” full of confidence.

They dated for three years before marrying in 1984. As Tricia recalls, with the oil fields failing, Toby was obliged to focus more on his music, and his band began performing full-time at local events while raising a family and juggling their creditors.

Toby once said that hundreds of people had advised his wife to beg him to seek a “real job” because he was pursuing celebrity. He said that his wife was a caring, strong-willed woman who stood by his side no matter what.

The singer said how wonderful it would be for both of them if he hit gold! Toby met and fell in love with his wife, although she was already a mother to her daughter, Shelley, whom he adopted when he married Tricia.

Krystal Keith, the musician’s daughter born in 1985, chose to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a country music star. Stelen, the singer’s most recent kid, was born in 1997.

According to his Instagram profile, he is an investor who works in venture management. After his father, H.K. Covel, died, Toby said that his priorities had switched to his family.

He said that it had been difficult for him to leave his kids after his father’s death. Toby described how his retired oil company CEO father had a burial “fit for a king,” and how he hadn’t grieved since he was focused on taking over care of his family.

In 2010, the artist revealed the location of his Dream Walkin’ Farms outside of Norman, Oklahoma. He said that it was where he raised his thoroughbred racehorses and played poker at night.

He adored spending time with his family on the 160-acre ranch, which was secure from Hollywood and the limelight. They played racquetball and basketball, went fishing, and competed in Uno and Risk.

Because of their support, the country artist labeled his fans as the “greatest” in the world in June 2022. One admirer commented on the photo, saying how “honorable” Toby was for doing angelic work for soldiers, fighters, and children with cancer and their families, writing:

“Who else in country music has done more with their lives than Toby Keith?” We want him to have no boundaries, just possibilities.”

Someone else mentioned how Toby’s fans have been there for him through the highs and lows of his life. The fan said that no one battled alone with their support before revealing that the singer was in their thoughts and prayers and that they wanted him to have time to recuperate.

Unfortunately, not everyone was rooting for Toby, as others attempted to profit from the singer’s plight. In June 2022, the singer warned his real fans to be careful about “imposter profiles” that said they were him.

He and his staff were made aware of accounts providing “falsified updates” on Toby’s health, he claimed. The staff was working on getting the bogus accounts erased, according to the message.
