If Lizzo is going to do one thing, it’s serve up a dramatic awards show outfit. After skipping the red carpet at the Emmys, the “About Damn Time” singer surprised everyone with a big fashion moment onstage (read: she didn’t walk the red carpet).

Lizzo took the stage to present the 2022 Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy Series (congrats, Brett Goldstein). She wore a spectacular tiered tulle gown that required her own assistance. Kenan Thompson took a short break from being the host so he could help Lizzo with her huge train as she walked on stage.

She looked stunning in the cherry-red gown with trailing sleeves, a ruffled neckline, and a voluminous high-low skirt. Despite the attention-grabbing dress, Lizzo kept the rest of her look simple and stylish, opting for strappy metallic shoes and silvery crystal earrings. She went with a neutral palette for glam, with her hair swept into a simple but towering knot.

Though she is known for her fondness of exposed outfits, exaggerated silhouettes like this one have recently been a Lizzo favorite. Last week at the VMAs, she also looked great in a dress with a lot of billowing fabric.
