Demi Lovato has retired from touring

Demi Lovato’s current tour in promotion of her eighth studio album, Holy Fvck, will be her final.

The singer posted photographs of herself peering out a hotel room window to her Instagram stories, captioning them, “I’m so fucking ill I can’t get out of bed.” This is something I can no longer do. This will be my final tour. I adore and thank you. ” “Gonna power through it for you guys,” she added in another since-deleted story. I’ll need some help singing, so please sing loudly for me, bb’s! ” “I barely have a voice. I’m going to be pointing the mic to the audience a lot tonight,” she said over a backstage selfie.

The current tour has been running for about a month, and all remaining dates are in the United States. She hasn’t said she’ll end the tour early, but this could be fans’ last chance to see her live.

If she decides to cease touring, it will be after a long career in the entertainment industry — and a firsthand understanding of the impact it can have on personal wellness. After beginning her career as a child on Barney and Friends, Lovato rose to prominence in the Disney ranks on episodes such as Sonny With A Chance (for which she also performed), Princess Protection Program, and the Camp Rock series. She’s also been putting out songs since 2008. Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil, a docuseries coming out in 2021, will tell the story of what happened before her overdose in 2018, while Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated is a documentary about her struggle with bipolar disorder.
