A couple enticed thieves by leaving bikes in their yard, then beat them with bats

When one hears shouts for help from their neighbor’s yard, they usually do not expect it to be from the thief. This may be true for the majority of individuals, but not for one Visalia, California, couple. They began to worry about their belongings after relocating to the region. They took matters into their own hands to protect their belongings as well as themselves. They enticed potential burglars with a bicycle and then beat them up. This did, in fact, occur.

Visalia police made an arrest in January 2020 that they anticipated would lead to an answer. A string of assaults has occurred in the Visalia area. Savannah Grillot, 29, and Corey Cornutt, 25, had recently moved into the 200 block of East Dove Avenue. They said they were worried about their safety and the protection of their belongings. When they were new to the region, they felt their anxiety was justified because their car was broken into on the first night and then again a few weeks later.

They resolved to become vigilantes for their own protection. Instead of waiting for the police, which would be too late, they devised a plan together. They had abandoned a bicycle in their front yard. The only problem was that it lacked a lock and chain. It was absolutely vulnerable to being taken by anyone who happened to walk by while thinking no one was looking.

The only difference is that Corey and Savannah were looking. They’d wait to see if somebody came up to steal the bike. They’d then jump out and bash them with a baseball bat. The couple not only assaulted the failed thieves, but they also videotaped them. They later uploaded these videos to YouTube.

The couple were jailed after they continued to assault each other for several months. This vigilante couple has four victims, although their neighbors have reported them numerous times. This implies that there are many more victims.

Visalia police said in a statement that the bicycle was set up as a trap to attract potential thieves. And luring them in with an unmanned bike. “According to the cameras, the suspects appear to have positioned an unsecured bicycle in the front yard of their residence and waited for someone to try to steal the bicycle. ” When someone attempted to take the bike, the suspects would run out of the home and beat the person with a baseball bat.”

Corey and Savannah were arrested but not their victims, despite the fact that they were in the yard to steal the bicycle. Nothing was taken, and the couple filed no burglary reports. Corey and Savannah were accused of a dangerous weapon assault and conspiracy.

More and more people are taking issues into their own hands. The world’s police agencies are trying to keep up with the flood of cases that appear to be drowning our civilization. Meeting violence with violence may not be the solution to all problems. Corey and Savannah, on the other hand, planned to beat up visitors they enticed into their garden in order to steal a bike they had purposely left there.
