With so many weird instances happening all over the world, a 2007 incident nevertheless serves as a history lesson. The Florida guy was supposed to have been hit by a stray gunshot at first, but the couple’s story did not fit.
Michael Eugene Moylan of Florida discovered a gunshot stuck in his brain after waking up with a severe, excruciating headache. When the pain became too much, his wife, April Moylan, drove him to a nearby hospital.
When the nurse informed the couple that Michael had been shot in the head, they appeared unconcerned. As a result, the doctor dialed 911 to report a man who had been hit by a stray gunshot. Throughout their examination of the event, the authorities noticed several discrepancies between the husband and wife’s stories. Because of the confusion, the police received several questions. They needed to determine whether the woman shot her husband or whether the pair were hiding something behind their statements.
Michael Moylan and his wife had a routine day, and after finishing their responsibilities, they went to bed as usual. On the other hand, Michael was awakened in severe agony around 4:30 a.m. in the middle of the night. After alerting his wife about his pain, he went back to sleep. However, his suffering intensified with time, despite his hope that it would go away.
Michael’s wife, April Moylan, was questioned if she had accidentally elbowed him while he was asleep. April advised Michael to go to the hospital, but Michael later diagnosed himself with an aneurysm attack. Michael’s agony spread from his head to his entire body.
Because Michael’s condition was deteriorating, the two hurriedly dressed and jumped into the automobile. They rushed to the nearest hospital early Tuesday morning. Michael was sent to the emergency department after arriving at the hospital. When the nurse asked what was wrong with Michael, he said it may be an aneurysm attack.
The nurse was astonished to see blood clotting behind Michael’s ear when checking him. The nurse questioned him further, but he seemed utterly unconcerned with the gunshot. The medical staff called the Florida police and told them about Michael, thinking that a stray bullet had hit him.
Police came to the hospital after hearing the doctor’s story. They started interviewing Michael and his wife about the events. Listening to all sides’ comments, however, showed a constant pattern of discrepancies. The police felt they were inventing their story and hiding something terrible behind their contradicting claims. After checking April and Michael’s criminal records, all concerns were alleviated.
When she thought the detectives had found her lying, April fled the scene. April, who was 39 at the time, was found to have a criminal record for having, selling, and transporting cocaine. They looked into Michael’s criminal history but couldn’t find anything.
April later came forward and surrendered to the police. She informed police that she sleeps with a 0.32-caliber revolver that she keeps loaded at all times. She concealed the gun under her pillow and slept close to her husband when she went to bed.
When Moylan’s house security alarm went off at 4 a.m., April immediately got out her revolver. She unintentionally fired the revolver, wounding her husband in the back of the head near his ear.
Because the couple was aware of April’s criminal background, they did not immediately call 911 for assistance. April possessed an illegal firearm since she had a criminal past of having and trafficking cocaine, so the couple made up a tale. They eventually confirmed their guilt and surrendered to the authorities.
April Moylan was accused of illegally having a pistol and was ordered detained on a cash bond of $75,000.00. Despite the knowledge that Michael was a convicted felon, authorities did not immediately arrest him. They were waiting for him to recuperate because otherwise, the court would be liable for his hospital fees.
