It’s incredible how quickly Dad races onto the track to save his son from a flaming racecar

On June 16th, spectators at South Boston Speedway watched a violent incident involving racers Mike Jones and Matt Bowling as they contended for the lead. Sparks from Mike Jones’ smashed automobile ignited, leaking petrol on the ground in the aftermath.

Dean Jones, Mike’s father, and crew chief jumped the fence and ran out onto the track to assist his son in escaping the cockpit.

«When I noticed the flames, Mike’s car stopped nearly in front of our pit stall,» Dean explained. Without hesitation, I leaped from the wall to assist in pulling him out of the automobile. Nobody, not even lovely baby Jesus, could have stopped me from rescuing my kid from a flaming race vehicle.

We’re willing to bet Mike went out and grabbed something extra special to commemorate his all-star dad the next day for Father’s Day, despite the fact that no injuries were discovered.
