Dane Entze and his wife had just returned from a weekend anniversary trip abroad with their two children.

When they came across the location of another «life-changing moment,» they were crossing John’s Hole Bridge in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the same spot where the couple had their first date. This bridge also served as the site of their first kiss.

According to the man, who is 36 years old, his wife saw a car drive down the boat ramp and into the sea while looking down from the bridge above at the boat ramp below.

«Looking down from the bridge above,» he explained, «at the boat ramp below.»

Dane dashed out of the car while his wife dialed an emergency number, scaled a barbed wire fence, and dashed to the boat launch.

He claimed to have seen the vehicle being swept away by the Snake River’s powerful currents as it flowed downstream. But then a woman came out, and he yelled to her, asking if she was okay.

«I’m committing suicide, and I don’t want to live any longer,» she told Dane, and she began swimming away from the coast after announcing her decision.

«I don’t know who you are, but I’m here, and I love you, and I’m going to help you,» Dane said to her.

Despite the fact that the water was freezing and the temperature outside was 19 degrees, he swam around 120 feet away from the bank to pull the woman back to the bank while her vehicle was being consumed by the river.

Entze stated that the woman lacked the strength to oppose him and requested to be left alone, but he denied her request. He claimed she lacked the strength to resist him.

«I knew we were out of time,» he admitted to the Fox digital team.

When first responders arrived to help, they transported the patient to the hospital in a stable condition so that they could assess the patient’s mental health and provide additional support. In addition, they recovered the submerged vehicle.

«We would like to express our gratitude to the Good Samaritan who risked their own lives to save another,» said the Idaho Falls Fire Department’s public information officer.

«We’d like to express our appreciation to the Good Samaritan who risked their own lives to save another.» We have a lot to be thankful for, including the fact that both parties made it out of the icy water alive.

Dane stated that it opened his eyes to the difficulties that other people face. He has since communicated with the woman’s family, who are excited to meet him in the near future.
