A 14-year-old receives the FASTEST chair turn on “The Voice.”

Jade De Rijcke, a 14-year-old singer, impressed the judges on “The Voice Kids Belgium” before going on to win the full 2018 season.

De Rijcke and her coach, Gers Pardoel, were able to win this match with ease. 2018 was Pardoel’s first season as a coach. By depending on De Rijcke and his other vocalists, Pardoel was able to defeat numerous more seasoned instructors and launch his student into prominence.

De Rijcke released her debut single in April 2019 after winning. The song Straw Home was about a close friendship. The fact that Straw House was De Riecke’s first original song made it noteworthy. She frequently sang cover tunes. She had composed original songs in the past, but this was the first time she had ever recorded one.

Many viewers might not be aware that De Rijcke had previously appeared on “The Voice Kids.” She tried out in 2017, however she didn’t go past the blind round. De Rijcke later said that she was dissatisfied that her audition was not even broadcast on television and that her nervousness had gotten the better of her.

De Rijcke, however, did not allow that setback deter her; instead, she went back to her training and tried again, and this time she was successful beyond all expectations. Sometimes all it takes to inspire a performer—or anyone, for that matter—to put up the effort necessary for success in any given activity is failure.

The “Road to” videos display a contestant’s performances over the course of their run on the program. It’s a useful method for gathering all of a performer’s songs into a single file. “Homesick” by Dua Lipa was the song De Rijcke chose for the blind audition.

A woman who has been separated from her boyfriend and longs to reunite with him despite challenging circumstances and a sense of loneliness is the subject of the slow, sorrowful, piano-driven ballad “Homesick.” The woman in this song is not giving up on finding her partner, much as De Rijcke never gave up on her quest to win the tournament.

The semi-final song was “Sober” by American pop singer Demi Lovato. The song about Lovato’s alcoholism is quite depressing. She talks about some of her unfortunate actions and her worry that she won’t be able to stop drinking. This is a bold decision for someone as young as De Rijcke, but singing a song does not necessarily mean living the song. She took it with the customary coolness and composure.

De Rijcke performed American singer Nicki Minaj’s song “Grand Piano” as the program’s last tune. This song is about a woman who doubts her lover’s loyalty and sincerity in the relationship. The singer also invests a lot of time in self-analysis to determine whether she has ever made a mistake. De Rijcke seems to take pleasure in talking about problematic relationships.

Jade De Rijcke has overcome her obstacles and won a tournament that it appeared impossible for her to win, despite the melancholy and angst in each of her music selections. Watching the video exemplifies what a potential champion looks like, and this is an uplifting narrative.
