Dale Bentley, 39, says he has no memory of the dance.

Bentley was detained by police early Sunday morning in Gahanna, Ohio, after spending a few hours at a local tavern. Bentley, who was polite and cheerful, was videotaped on the police car’s dash camera failing a sobriety test.

«I’m going to get arrested anyway,» he told one of the cops on the scene before erupting into a hip-shaking dance. «Man, if you need me to help you with your work, I’ll be like, who, what?»

The event did not amuse authorities, who were merely pleased to get Bentley off the road, according to the Columbus Dispatch. When we arrived at Bentley’s residence, he refused to speak, though he did tell a Dispatch reporter that he didn’t remember the dance.

A few years back, footage from the comedy show Reno 911 went viral as if it were real, featuring a police officer forcing a driver to do dance steps on the side of the road. She asked, «Are you a dancer?» «No, I’m just intoxicated,» he explained, forcing the arrest of the character.
