A FedEx driver followed his instincts and did the right thing at the end of his shift.
Damien Rose was driving home from work as a FedEx delivery in South Carolina when he noticed something unusual.
According to local television accounts, he stated, “I just happened to see smoke coming from far away, and when I saw the two cars, I knew it was an accident.”
As he came closer, he noticed that two automobiles had collided and heard someone cry, “Get the kid!”
Rose jumped out of his truck and went toward one of the broken-down autos. He was able to remove the child from their car seat and transport them to safety.
He raced back to assist a woman who was trapped in the second car, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t pull the door open.
“It was just a gut feeling,” he explained, “that I wasn’t going to let anyone die or anything like that.”
Rose even stayed with the families until the emergency services arrived.
Despite the fact that the persons in the accident praised him for stopping to assist them, Rose stated that he was the one who was grateful.
“I hope the good fortune returns.” He explained, “It always comes back.” “Stuff like that never throws me off.”
