Mandisa Zenaya Mlitwa, a South African woman in her twenties, has a lot to be grateful for. But, of all the blessings she has received, she values her adoptive parents the most.
In March, Mandisa sent her parents a heartfelt tribute on Facebook.
She regarded her white adoptive parents as “great people” and herself as an adopted child who had been blessed with them her entire life.
Mandisa stated that she wakes up every morning to loving hugs and feels loved.
She isn’t concerned when she gets into trouble because her father is simply a phone call away. He always appears when she needs him and is always willing to help her.
However, tragedy struck in March 2020 when her mother died of cancer. As a result, she is now alone with her father, whom she addresses as “pops.”
Mandisa has always been treated like a princess by her father. He holds doors open for her, gives her daily hugs, tells her he loves her, feeds her breakfast, and even helps her wash her hair. He always treats her to lunch.
Mandisa referred to him as her “best buddy” and stated that she could talk to her father about dating, which many children find awkward to discuss with their parents.
Mandisa, on the other hand, doesn’t have to worry about what her father thinks about her sexual life because he is a “cool dad” who only wants the best for her.
Mandisa is fortunate to have a wonderful father.
Mandisa just chooses to laugh off the notion that her father is her “sugar daddy” when they go out together. Some people find it difficult to accept that they are a father and daughter, perhaps due to the difference in skin tones.
But since this woman was so adored, it didn’t matter at all.
Mandisa claimed that her parents never asked for anything in exchange for sending her to school or supplying her with clothing. But, more than that, she had daily sensations of affection, for which she will be eternally grateful.
Mandisa is grieved by her mother’s death, yet she is grateful to God for making her feel loved despite the tragedy.
She is grateful that her parents adopted her and raised her as one of their own.
Mandisa’s moving Facebook message got worldwide recognition within two months.
You can read her poignant remembrance below:
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank God for bringing these wonderful people into my life.” I was adopted as a child. Every single day, I wake up and am greeted with a hug. When I call when I’m in danger, my father responds quickly.
My mother died of cancer last month, so it’s only my father and me now. When we’re out and people believe he’s my sugar daddy, I always giggle. Angilazi olungaka uthando!!! They dressed me and drove me to school without expecting anything in return!!
Every day, I am surrounded by affection. My father still makes me breakfast, takes me out to lunch, opens doors for me, gives me hugs every day, and tells me he loves me even though I’m 21 years old.
He buys me snacks and beverages that I enjoy.
He is my best friend. I can even talk to him about dating. He’s awesome! Thank you for taking my mum, God. I still feel loved and will be eternally grateful to her and my father for adopting me and loving me as one of their own. Mama, rest in peace.
The ability to love regardless of skin color is beautiful and should be celebrated and shared.
