A kid gymnast becomes famous after performing spectacular splits in a Michael Jackson-inspired performance!

A gymnast from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) smashed the internet on Monday after a video of her faultless routine was released on social media. The video, which was shared by her school with the caption “a 10 isn’t enough for her floor routine,” has already received over eight million views.

According to reports, Katelyn Ohashi’s faultless performance on Saturday enabled UCLA to earn first place with a team score of 197.700, defeating teams from California, Michigan State, and UC Davis.

When chatting with the Los Angeles Times on Monday, Ohashi noted that it was only her second time doing the same dance in the competition. The UCLA student rose to stardom after her dance routine choreographed to Michael Jackson’s song earned over 90 million internet views the previous year. Ohashi won the 2018 NCAA floor championship with her performance.

Coach Valorie Kondos Field told the media outlet, “We just kept saying, ‘How’re we going to top that?'” How can we outdo that? He was referring to her performance from the previous year.

Following last year’s success, both Ohashi and Field spent months building a new routine. They had planned a decent routine, but Ohashi wanted to add more flips and summersaults.

“It’s insane how much she performs in that routine that she doesn’t have to do,” Kondos Field said.

Many social media users applauded the child gymnast’s ability, with one tweeting: “The power drop into the splits bounce up at the finish is mind-bending.” Power movements abound in today’s floor exercises.

“I would break every ligament I didn’t realize I even had,” another user remarked. I know absolutely nothing about gymnastics, but this is entertaining to watch. Just by observing, I harmed myself.

According to reports, Ohashi has been competing in national gymnastics contests for more than 18 years.
