Jack Nicholson is a popular name and face in Hollywood. In a number of critically acclaimed movies, like «The Shining» and «One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,» the actor has given some of his best performances.

His life had a difficult start. On April 22, 1937, John Joseph Nicholson was born in New York. The little boy would grow up in New Jersey with his grandmother, a beauty industry mogul named Ethel Nicholson.

His grandfather thought his grandmother was his birth mother since his alcoholic father had left the family when he was a little boy.

June, his 19-year-old sister, quit her dancing career to follow her goal of becoming an actress. Jack went to Los Angeles at the age of 17 with the idea of following suit.
