In 2013, Khalid Shaari of Saudi Arabia rose to prominence overnight.

The 22-year-old man’s name was then entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the heaviest individual alive at the time.

Khalid’s official weight was 610 kg, and he hadn’t left his residence in several years since he couldn’t fit through the entryway.

Who knows how much longer Khalid would have been unable to leave the house if it hadn’t been for Saudi King Abdullah Al Saud?

He was the one who, after learning that the 610-kilogram record holder lived in the kingdom, ordered that he assist the man in losing weight.

He also paid for the entire procedure and covered all associated costs.

Even getting Khalid to the clinic in Riyadh was a challenge.

A whole team of movers, installers, doctors, and builders was needed to help the 610-kilogram guy get to the place of treatment.

Specialists dismantled part of the wall of the building, and then on a loader lowered down a specially designed bed on which Khalid was.

As it turned out, Khalid’s excess weight was caused not only by overeating and improper nutrition but also by genetic abnormalities that had to be eliminated as soon as possible.

As a result of a series of procedures and the coordinated work of many specialists, Khalid was able to get rid of almost four hundred kilograms of excess weight in three years.

He could now move around on his own and even do some physical workouts, which were essential for him to lose weight.

Khalid Shaari is now 31 years old and weighs around 72 kilograms.

He participates in sports and maintains a healthy lifestyle.

The man is willing to go to any length to avoid appearing in the Record Book again.
