Hello, fellow Carson fan! You know, sometimes it’s nice to remember good times. Today we’re going to look back at a special moment from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Who could forget Drew Barrymore’s sweet first appearance on July 28, 1982?

Back in the day, America had a different vibe. Ronald Reagan was calling the shots from the White House, and you could fill up your tank with gas for a mere $1.30. If you were in the market for a new ride, you could expect to pay around $8,000. It was a time when we eagerly rushed to the theaters to watch E.T., only having to pay $2.50 for a movie ticket. We couldn’t help but sing along to the catchy tune of «Physical» by Olivia Newton-John, which was dominating the music charts.

It was a great time to be alive, wasn’t it? Drew says in the interview that she stayed up late to watch Johnny’s show. This makes me smile because I remember myself, too, sitting down every night to watch Carson. It was like we were all from the same Carson family.

Now let’s talk about the interview! Drew was riding the wave of her E.T. fame at the time. She was only seven years old. We loved her from the moment she walked in because she was so cute. It’s interesting how honest she is during the whole talk. She even took out her dental retainer to show us her beautiful smile better.
