This story is very unusual. A single dad came back from a trip and discovered twins on his daughter’s bed. So he waits for his daughter to come home and gives him some explanation. Finally, her daughter comes home and tells him something really shoc.k-ing. Stanley raised his daughter, Phoebe, on his own when his wife, Martha, passed away from cancer. Phoebe was just eight years old when Martha left them, and Stanley found it difficult to raise a daughter while working full-time!
Stanley tried his hardest to be a good father, but he couldn’t replace Phoebe’s mother’s gap. They drifted apart, particularly as Phoebe got older and stopped discussing anything with him. Stanely was troubled by the prospect of his only kid not being near enough to him, but nothing he attempted to bridge the distance between them worked. The real issue came for him when Phoebe turned 14.
Stanely saw a rush of changes in her daughter, which obviously indicated that males were after her. She had more lovers than girlfriends. Her skirt length was dropping with time, and she was a carbon copy of her lovely mother. How could the boys not be interested in her?
These things worried Stanley, as they do any concerned father. However, he believed and trusted Phoebe enough to ignore the changes as normal for any teenage female.
Furthermore, addressing it with her would just damage their relationship and push them even farther away. But one day, he started to regret his choice… Stanley was meant to be in Paris for a business conference for four days. He was confident that Phoebe could handle things on her own while he was gone since she was a responsible teen who had learned everything from cooking to cleaning to food shopping from him.
While Stanley was in Paris, the conference was quickly postponed from a four-day event to a three-day event, causing him to return home a day earlier than expected.
He knew Phoebe would be at school when he arrived home, so he made her a special lunch before she arrived. However, when he sat on the sofa, he heard a baby crying from upstairs, where Phoebe’s room was.
Stanley went upstairs, perplexed, and fell over when he spotted not one, but two infants wrapped in towels on Phoebe’s bed. «What happened?» What are infants doing here? No way! Phoebe? » He couldn’t understand what he was thinking, yet there was no other explanation. Why hadn’t he seen anything earlier?
«Explain this, Phoebe!» he growled fiercely to himself. He was startled to hear the entrance door open and shut. He emerged from Phoebe’s room to see her returning home with baby items in her arms. «Phoebe!» he cried as he ran downstairs. «Wow, Dad!» «You frightened me!» Phoebe was surprised and dropped her belongings. «What exactly are you doing here?» Isn’t it true that you’re meant to be at a conference? »
«Stop talking and tell me what those infants are doing in your room.» And why aren’t you in school right now?» He questioned fiercely, and for the first time, he observed concern in Phoebe’s eyes. «Dad!» he said. Please chill! «Please allow me to explain everything!» Give me a proper reason or—» «All right, all right, relax!» Okay, let me just check on the infants and then we can talk. And, yeah, please accompany me to my room. «I have something I need to show you.»
Stanley after Phoebe as she dashed upstairs to the babies. When the infants were finally calm, Phoebe raced to her closet and scribbled something down. «Dad, please read this.» I’m sorry for putting something that should have been my responsibility on your shoulders, but please do me a favor and look after my kids. » Because I am unable to provide a nice life for the children, I am leaving them here. They’re twins, and I’d like it if you could refer to them as Ryan and Peter. Thank you a lot. »
«Exactly what is this?» Stanley looked at her, puzzled. «Did you just bring someone else’s baby home?» «They were aba.n.d.oned, dad.» I discovered them in a stroller next to a park on my way home two days ago. Thank goodness I found the message and took it home before it got into the hands of the wrong people. And I just missed two days of school to care for children, so don’t worry about missing classes! »
During the adoption process, Stanley met a volunteer named Brooke, and they fell in love. He also asked if he could adopt the infants until their families could be discovered, and they gladly agreed to do so after paperwork validation. While the twins were residing at Stanley and Phoebe’s residence, the investigators attempted to locate their relatives but were unsuccessful.
After a few months, the detectives dropped the case, and Stanley, who had become fond of Ryan and Peter, adopted them. However, it was not the end of the tale. With Brooke’s assistance, Stanley and Phoebe’s relationship improved, and Phoebe now had somebody in her life with whom she could speak about girly things, something she couldn’t do with Stanley previously. Stanley and Phoebe’s family increased from two to five members as a consequence.
