What was Naomi Campbell’s response to Kendall Jenner’s comments on Working Fewer Fashion Shows?

Kendall Jenner made headlines when she said in an interview that she walks in many fewer shows than other models. The outcry was swift, and the reality star quickly issued a statement claiming that her statements had been taken out of context. Naomi Campbell chimed  with her thoughts on the subject. And by «two cents,» I mean she actually spoke two words and gave the most venomous expression ever seen on television.

On Wednesday’s broadcast of Watch What Happens Live, Naomi and fellow guest Cuba Gooding Jr. were accepting fan questions. One fan wrote in to ask Naomi «your thoughts on Kendall Jenner being the highest-paid model while stating she cherry-picks her assignments and could never do 30 shows in a season,» as presenter Andy Cohen read. (As a refresher, Naomi helped redefine the word «supermodel» in the 1980s and 1990s, so she knows a thing or two about the profession.) Naomi, on the other hand, stared right into the camera and said, «Next question,» all while giving Andy a sharp gaze. Yikes!

Naomi later explained on the broadcast that she hadn’t written out all the up-and-coming, celebrity-spawned models. When Andy inquired about Naomi’s connection with Kaia Gerber, who often refers to Naomi as «Auntie,» Naomi answered with a grin, «Kia’s adorable. She has made me extremely proud.» She went on to recount a moment when she, Kaia, and Kaia’s mother, Cindy Crawford, all got together at the late designer Azzedine Alaa’s home to discuss Kaia’s profession. «We basically sat at the kitchen table and basically went over all the programs she should and shouldn’t watch right now—because she’s a baby, she can get to them—and she’s followed everything,» Naomi said, adding, «Very proud of her.»

For the record, Naomi’s opinions extend beyond the modeling profession. She was also questioned about the now-famous fight between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj at a recent Fashion Week party on WWHL. «It was called the Icon Party, but there were no icons there,» she joked of the rivalry, adding that she was «at home on the couch watching TV» with her buddy Kate Moss at the time. In general, Naomi said, «I felt dissatisfied. I don’t want to watch black ladies fight. I don’t want to watch ladies fight, period. So, neither here nor there. It’s all music, you know, there’s no such thing as genre in music. And since music is for everyone, there is no prejudice, I was quite upset.»
