Anne Hathaway appeared at New York Fashion Week to recreate one of her “The devil wears Prada” looks

Anne Hathaway recently went to New York Fashion Week, where she seemed to honor one of her most popular characters with a throwback look.

On Wednesday, the actor was seen entering a Michael Kors catwalk show and posing for cameras outside the event in a brown, alligator-print coat.

She also donned a dark turtleneck top, huge sunglasses, and a matching miniskirt.

Her shoes were a classic pair of black Louboutin heels, and her hair was tied back into a ponytail that highlighted her wispy bangs.

Fans were immediately reminded of her character Andrea Sachs’s look in the 2006 film “The Devil Wears Prada” by her fall-ready dress and casual hairstyle.

At the end of the film, Hathaway’s character dresses similarly for a job interview: a brown leather jacket over a dark turtleneck. Her hair is also pushed back and her bangs frame her face.

It’s unknown whether Hathaway’s new costume was inspired by the one she wore 16 years ago, or whether the look was purely coincidental. Erin Walsh, the actor’s stylist, did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.

At the runway presentation, she was sitting exactly next to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who provided the inspiration for the film’s other key character, Miranda Priestly.

The actor was even caught speaking with the fashion icon.

In an Instagram post, Hathaway mused on her favorite ensembles from “The Devil Wears Prada,” and she spoke with Michael Kors about her wardrobe in the film in an interview with Interview Magazine.
