The audition brought Lionel to tears

Ronda Felton takes the stage in front of the American Idol judges to perform a soulful song.
She couldn’t hold back her tears when the judges asked about her background. Ronda uses singing to cope with her circumstances, which have been difficult to say the least.

Her family consists of her mother and herself, and they’ve all had to deal with homelessness, poverty, and the ongoing hunt for a secure place to sleep.

Felton is nineteen years old. She was born in Milwaukee but now resides in Arizona. Ronda has come a long way, and she’s only getting started.

Music helped her and her mother cope with life. “Zoom” by The Commodores is their favorite music to listen to together.

“I consider myself really fortunate to be here with all of you. It means everything to me.

Lionel handed Felton his black handkerchief as she prepared for her performance.

When it came time to unveil her audition song, Ronda selected Dream Girls’ “One Night Only.”
Ronda, 19, revealed her singing powers on a single piano. Standing on the Idol logo, she realized this was her chance. And she sang beautifully.

Ronda’s singing was so moving that Lionel had to wipe away tears.

Elijah Allen added,

“I went to school with Ronda and have seen her perform live; she deserves this.”

Let us take him at his word.

The room is silent, not just because of Ronda’s singing but also because of her life narrative.

As Ronda sang all her soul, the judges’ respect and astonishment spilled.

Lionel was the first to speak after her tryout.

“I was doing extremely well until you walked in and did something no one else had done tonight: you touched me to the point of tears,”

he said.

“Once in a while, life happens and you wonder, ‘How can I get out of this situation?'” And God makes a crack in the wall. Just a crack, since every other crack has always been there. But that crack is just big enough to get you through. And you, my darling, have just discovered that crack. Because that was the turning point in your life.

Katy then added it up.

You don’t have to be a powerful person. You just have to be Ronda. That will get you all the way. ”

Luke had the following to say:

“That was a fantastic performance, but I have a feeling it wasn’t your greatest yet.”

Ronda’s experience demonstrates that, no matter what, there is always cause to be hopeful. She is proof that our history is not the end of the tale and that opportunity may come to any of us if we consent to it.
