Dad hires a repairman for his furnace, and when he gets the bill, he sees a note about his baby

«I was thinking, ‘Wait, what?’ «No. This cannot be true! »
There is no worse moment for your furnace to break than when a large snowfall is on the way, but add a newborn baby to the mix and the problem multiplies tenfold!

Jesse and Maria Hulscher of Willmar, Minnesota, were desperate to get their furnace repaired as soon as possible after their son Adler was born.

It was the 23rd of February, and with a storm approaching, Jesse knew that time was of importance.
«I panicked instantly,» Jesse told FOX 9. «I have a two-year-old here, a newborn arriving in a few days, and this was before the big possible snowfall.»

With the recent wonderful weather, we were able to fill our Hulscher foursome! Adler, Stephen, welcome to the tee (and the world)…

Maria remained in the hospital with Adler, leaving Jesse to cope with the situation on his own.
He called Magnuson Sheet Metal, a local company, expecting a quick and affordable remedy. Due to his enthusiasm for the new baby and his anxieties about the weather, Jesse couldn’t keep his feelings under control when he informed the man on the phone about his position.

«He said, «the fan’s not functioning, the furnace’s not working, my wife’s in the hospital, and we just delivered a baby yesterday,'» Magnuson co-owner Craig Aurand remembered. «I simply told you to relax. We’ll be right there.»

That morning, Magnuson sent someone to fix the furnace, and everything was back to normal in an hour.

Jesse and Maria both exhaled a sigh of relief. The only thing left to do was pay the bill.

But the pair were in for a surprise when the invoice arrived in the mail!
«When I opened it and checked the receipt, it read, ‘no charge, take care of the new baby,'» Jesse remembered. «I was thinking, ‘Wait, what?'» No, this can’t be true. » And he’s like, ‘I know, I can’t believe it,’ «Maria explained.

Jesse and Maria were so touched by the small business’s kindness that they decided to thank them by posting the invoice on Jesse’s Facebook page.

Within a few days, it had gone viral, with over 3.9k responses and hundreds of shares.
I can’t thank them enough for the excellent service, quick response time, and fantastic technicians. » Customers stay with businesses like these!» Jesse stated in his blog post.

Despite the great publicity, the directors of Magnuson Sheet Metal remain humble about their generosity.
«We didn’t do it for the publicity; we just wanted to be nice people.» That’s all. «I just want to be good to these people,» Craig explained. «That is the point of this.»
