98-year-old mother enters a nursing home to care for her 80-year-old son

A mother’s love is absolutely indescribable.

A 98-year-old woman went viral after choosing to live in the same nursing facility as her 80-year-old son in order to care for him.

It’s a touching story of a mother’s love being so strong even at such a late age, and Ada Keeting is the wonderful mother who made it her mission to look after her son’s well-being.

Tom Keating moved to Moss View care facility in Liverpool, UK, in 2016 because he needed additional care and assistance.

Mother Ada made the decision to move into the same house in order to be closer to her oldest and care for her. In their spare time, the two spend as much time as possible together, watching Emmeralde or playing games.

Ada and Tom are originally from Wavertree, Liverpool, and have always had a particular bond because they have always lived together and Tom has never married.

Ada mentioned that they had developed a sort of routine.

“Every night, I say goodnight to Tom in his room, and I’ll go say good morning to him,” she explained. “I’ll let him know I’ll be down for breakfast.”

She said that they still adore one another after all these years.

“When I go to the hairdresser, he’ll look for me to see when I’ll be back,” she explained. “When I return, he’ll come running up to me with his arms spread and give me a big embrace.” “You are always a mother.” “They’re extremely good here,” Tom remarked, “and I’m pleased to see my mother more now that she lives here.” “Behave yourself,” she’ll advise at times. She takes excellent care of me.

Ada and her late husband Harry had four children, Tom being the oldest and only boy among them. Margi, Barbara, and Janet, Ada’s daughters, died when they were 13 years old. Before retiring, Tom worked as a painter and decorator, while Ada was an auxiliary nurse.

Members of their family make regular visits at home and are always glad to see the couple together. On certain occasions, up to five generations of the Keating family visit.

Debi Higham, Ada’s granddaughter, pays frequent visits to her grandma and uncle. She stated as follows:

“They can’t be separated. It’s reassuring to know that they’re both being cared for around the clock.

Phillip Daniels, the care home’s manager, also stated that they were overjoyed to have Tom and Ada among them.

“It’s quite moving to observe Tom and Ada’s tight friendship, and we’re so glad we were able to suit both of their demands,” he added. “It’s unusual to have moms and their children in the same care facility, so we aim to make their time together as meaningful as possible.” They are inextricably linked.
