When Lucy Stevens of Napoleonville, Louisiana, couldn’t sleep one night, she asked her adult son, Lance, to take her for a spin around the family kitchen.

“In southern Louisiana, you dance when you can’t sleep!” Early in the video, Lucy exclaims The resulting video has become massively popular, and it’s easy to see why! The couple sang to Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” while their family cheered them on. It looked like they had been practicing for a long time.

In fact, based on the ease with which he moves, Lance appears to have spent his whole childhood dancing with his mother in the kitchen.

With their previous expertise and much practice, the couple seamlessly transitions into the dance routine. The mother-son dancing team effortlessly boogies and slides on the kitchen floor.

They have some amazing movements! Their facial expressions are just delightful to see, not just their dancing. The dance is basic, but they’re having so much fun together that we all wish we could have an impromptu dance party with our loved ones!

The way they laugh and grin at each other melts your heart, and everyone who views this video is filled with happiness. Lucy says to the camera operator, “Yes, I am a lady,” after quoting a song line. Lance can’t stop laughing at his mean mother. He acts like he’s about to collapse on the floor from laughing so hard.
