True love must be unfailing. When one partner is in difficulty, loving partners go above and beyond to assist the other. Regardless of how difficult the circumstances are on both sides, the vast majority of them do not give up. The following story is a perfect example of what it means to deeply love someone.

Zhang Xiaoyu was a 22-year-old college student in the Chinese province of Anhui ten years ago. Her boyfriend, Zhang Jiafeng, had graduated from college a year before and had already found work before leaving. They’d been out for a year and had big plans for the future. Xiaoyu was unexpectedly diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain. She was taken to the hospital for an emergency procedure, but she suffered a stroke and fell into a coma during the procedure.

To make matters worse, the doctor informed Jiafeng that it was impossible to predict when Xiaoyu would resurrect. He chose to look after Xiaoyu because he was not yet ready to let go of his life’s love. He was well aware that caring for a disabled person is never an easy task.

If the individual is not closely monitored, they may die from a lung infection and malnutrition. «When we fell in love, we had so many plans once we got married soon,» Jiafeng explained. Now is not the time to give up. Whatever happens, I promise to be gentle with her and have no choice but to accompany her.»

Jiafeng’s parents both agreed that he is now an adult capable of choosing his own future path, and they respected every option he chose for himself. Xiaoyu’s parents, on the other hand, were distressed.

Jiafeng is still in his early twenties and has a bright future ahead of him. They believe it is inappropriate to burden him with the circumstances of this scenario because they have not yet tied the knot. Jiafeng dismissed these thoughts, stating that he would not release his grip on Xiaoyu as long as she continued to breathe.

Every morning at 6:00, Jiafeng assists Xiaoyu in cleaning up and changing her diapers. Following that, he prepares her a liquid breakfast, feeds her delicately through a tube placed in her nose, and then massages her legs and feet. Xiaoyu’s family is very active.

Her mother is ill, her younger brother has to go to school, and her father has to work every day. As a result, Jiafeng decided to take the initiative in caring for Xiaoyu. He has more than a dozen alarms set on his phone every single day. «I assist her in changing over every two hours, and after that, I make every effort to keep her from lying on her back in a horizontal position.»

After doing various chores around the house, Jiafeng would sit by her bedside and talk to or sing to Xiaoyu. He never stopped being hopeful that one day, the woman who would become the love of his life would come to life again. A miracle happened after over 500 days had passed. Xiaoyu began moving. Jiafeng couldn’t contain his happiness and said, “I feel so happy! After such a long time, the thorn that had been in my heart was finally removed. I feel so relieved!”

As she slowly opened her eyes, Xiaoyu’s voice was faint, but she managed to mutter, «I saw him when I opened my eyes, and I called his name very gently.» Xiaoyu had been in a coma for nearly two years, during which time her weight had dropped to 30 kilograms and her memory had become severely impaired. Despite the fact that she had a long way to go before she was fully recovered, Jiafeng remained optimistic. He was confident that the most difficult part was over. Jiafeng also believed that they would undoubtedly complete Xiaoyu’s rehabilitation process together.

After many years of hard work at the rehabilitation center, Xiaoyu was finally able to stand on her own and walk in 2011. They finally tied the knot in 2012. It wasn’t a big deal, but it was a happy occasion attended by family and close friends. Following the wedding, Xiaoyu required Brain Shunt Surgery, which is a procedure in which a hollow tube is surgically placed in the brain (or occasionally in the spine) to aid in the drainage and redirection of cerebrospinal fluid to another location in the body where it can be reabsorbed.

Because Xiaoyu had a condition in which her cerebrospinal fluid was not being reabsorbed properly, this procedure was required. Even though dealing with medical bills was difficult, Jiafeng was able to return to work and earn enough money to cover the cost of the operation. Despite the fact that he did not make a lot of money, Jiafeng was eager to help with the finances.

“He is quite frugal with himself, yet he is very generous with me”, said Xiaoyu. ” He will fulfill every request that I make.” Jiafeng’s said, “Of course, my woman has to dress up when she goes out, but I don’t see the need in buying nice clothing for myself.

Because I didn’t give her enough, I will always feel as if I owe her something. I have not provided her with a proper home, as a matter of fact, we do not even own a house. Despite the fact that Xiaoyu continued to reassure Jiafeng that “those are not important,” “The most important thing is that the two of us are together!”

Following the media’s coverage of Jiafeng and Xiaoyu’s story, many internet users expressed interest in providing financial assistance in the form of donations or contributions toward the couple’s expenses; however, the couple declined these offers. They claim that their income is modest, but that they can still provide for themselves and live happy life.

The couple is very involved in the community, as evidenced by their membership in a local volunteer group and their involvement in a number of charitable and community service projects. Although Jiafeng and Xiaoyu do not have much money, they have many people who love and trust them, and they are willing to share even more love in the hopes that it will touch everyone’s hearts!
