During his audition for Britain’s Got Talent, Gruffydd Wyn Roberts, 22, went through an emotional rollercoaster. In fact, just a few seconds after he began performing the song, Simon Cowell raised his arm to halt him.

In an incredible turn of events, Gruffydd’s audition ended with the best response a competitor could get: the Golden Buzzer award!

When Gruffydd approached the BGT judges, he appeared to be a regular guy. He arrived from Anglesey, a Welsh island where he lived with his grandmother, and worked as a theater help.

Gruffydd, like many of the other competitors, had a troubled past. He admitted to the courts that he stayed with his grandmother because he didn’t meet his father till he was 16 years old.

Nonetheless, despite his heartbreaks, it appears that Gruffydd had a support system. He had followers in the audience shouting for him the entire time, and you could tell.

Gruffydd, a rugby player and vocalist, stated that he will perform for the judges. But no one could have predicted the kind of vocals that would come from his mouth.

It turns out that the 20-year-old has a magnificent voice and a talent for singing opera!

But, in just a few phrases, Gruffydd had experienced the worst-case scenario for every contestant. When Simon lifted his arm in the air, the music came to a halt.

Simon must have found it difficult to tell Gruffydd that he thought his performance sounded «cold» and «mechanical.» The judge would give him a second chance to sing a different tune.

«I’m looking for that richness and warmth.» I need you to take a deep breath for a second.

On his second attempt, Gruffydd chose to sing «Nessun Dorma» by Giacomo Puccini. But something was different this time—he seemed much more at ease as he let go of his commanding voice.

The crowd could observe the improved performance and applauded when Gruffydd was saved. His voice is so beautiful it gives you shivers.

He pauses short at one point, almost as though emotion had overpowered him. Gruffydd, on the other hand, was not about to give up. He delivers the next lyrics with such zeal that everyone gives him a standing ovation.
